Tuesday Use It In a Sentence ~ Gage

She sighed, as the rings were pawned for a price much lower than she’d expected. She had no choice but to leave their wedding bands as gages. She needed the coins regardless of how few there were. Her husband’s passing had changed her situation drastically and she wasn’t ready to do what the woman housing them advised. The money wouldn’t last long but hopefully, it would give her time to secure a job as a governess. She wouldn’t send her children to the poorhouse. And maybe she would come back one day to recover the rings. She had to hope.

For some reason I can’t comment on your website Tessa. So here it is. Thank you for participating. It’s a lovely and fun story too. Something I could have done if there had been snow in my area in winter. Always liked me a good snowball fight. 😀
