Love Nudges ~ Security


In response to Lynn’s challenge to answer Love Nudges. Today’s prompt is Security
The rule:
Your writing can take any form – poem (tanka, haiku, ode, blank verse, limeric – whatever you fancy, knock your poetic socks off): prose (up to three sentences), song lyric, ditty, advertising blurb … Really, whatever you fancy as long as it’s short-ish.

She met his gaze over the table and forced a smile. His answering grin was just as strained as hers. When had she become this woman who would rather stay with a man she no longer loved for the stability the relationship offered?

Everyone, except Matthew, knew Laura was in love with his bank account. But Matt had always been terrified he wasn’t worthy of being loved: he needed her. And they hated her for it.
