Hit by the Arrow

Dan liked to play cupid at office Christmas parties.

He’d hang mistletoe in the party room after the team in charge of organizing left. No one knew he put them on. Or so he liked to think. But Moira the company’s newest employee was a Cupid herself and she wasn’t to be outdone.

Dan was discrete: he’d comment on someone’s attraction for such person and a colleague would ensure they met under the mistletoe. He couldn’t even begin to guess how devious Moira was.

She prepared her very own strategy: it had nothing to with mistletoe and everything to do with hooks… those in the arrows you know. Love can be painful.

Moira hooked Dan like a fish on a line under the mistletoe. And Leslie didn’t wait for him to move. When they kissed, Moira disappeared. Well technically she didn’t; Moira was still there but the Cupid inhabiting her body left. Tricky little creatures these messengers.

  1. Lovely twists and turns through your piece of flash. Who would think that Cupid herself would get involved.
